Launchbit.com is a service that allows marketers to purchase ads in email newsletters on a pay per click basis. You’re leveraging the trust that people have already in the person running the newsletter. Audience skews towards affluent / tech savvy, so this might be a great traffic source for coaching offers. Rumored that the opt-in rate is pretty good.
Minimum is $1,000 campaign budget (for the month). You get a graphical ad (two ad formats: 125×125 [with a title and description] and a 468×60 banner ad). Definitely provide some different versions of each format to test.
Suggested CPC bids looks to be starting at around $4 which is pretty expensive, although you can bid as low as $.01. If the audience quality is as strong as they’re saying it is and we forecast a landing page conversion rate of 25%, then the cost per lead would be around $16.
No conversion tracking yet (as in getting a conversion pixel to place on your success page), which is a huge letdown, but they are in beta so it’s in the works.
Targeting & Optimizing with LaunchBit
Segmentation is available by audience interest:
There are some well known sites in their list that are publishing newsletters like HowToGeek.
LaunchBit will pass the name of the newsletter using ” <<publisher>>”. Here’s an example URL for setting up Google Analytics:
You can pause nonconverting newsletters in your dashboard. You can even target one newsletter and call them out in your ad.
What are some people’s thoughts about LaunchBit? $1000 is a high barrier of entry, but these do seem to be pretty legit publishers.
